A van starts travelling from Town P to Town Q at average speed of 80km/h at 1pm. At the same time, a lorry travels from Town Q to Town P. At 4pm, the van and the lorry were 20km apart, having passed each other earlier. If the van arrives at Town Q at 6pm, at what time will the lorry arrive at Town P?

ToTaL DiStAnCe BeTwEEn ToWn P To ToWn Q
= 5 * 80 = 400 Km
At 4 Pm, DiStAnCe TrAvElleD By VaN = 3 * 80 = 240 Km

ToTaL DiStAnCe = 240 Km - 20 Km + DiStAnCe TrAvElleD By LoRRy In 3 HoUrS
DiStAnCe TrAvElleD By LoRRy In 3 HoUrS = 400 - 220 = 180 Km
AvErAgE SpEEd Of LoRRY = 180 / 3 = 60 Km /hr

Conclusion : This question can be interpreted in another way...The first time I interpreted it is the Van and the lorry haven met each other, they are 20 km apart. Another interpretation will be the Van and lorry have already met on the way and at 4 pm , they are 20 km apart. So Basically...em....I Thinked the above working should be the correct one...my first calculation involves a lot of decimal places which means a bit impossible cause for a primary school question, normally they will set it to be easy to calculate...whole numbers instead of decimal.....Second calculation which is the one above is more easier to calculate.......whole number ma............So the possibility of being the correct one is higher..............therefore...I concluded this question is solved. 大功告成 !!!
